Twenty-five minutes down the A60. Loughborough sends us a lot of first cars and, because of that, a lot of very sensible questions about insurance.
Send the reg and we come back with the figures for your exact engine and a fixed price.
No obligation. We price it before anything is touched.
More people ask us about insurance from Loughborough than anywhere else, largely because a lot of the cars are on young-driver policies where a declaration genuinely matters.
The answer is simple and unwelcome: you must declare it. Most insurers will cover a Stage 1, often for very little. Not declaring it can invalidate the policy entirely, which is a vastly more expensive problem than the premium increase.

A 1.0 or 1.2 turbo petrol will gain, but the numbers are smaller than the internet suggests, and the percentage looks better than it feels.
We would rather set that expectation before you book than have you collect the car disappointed. If you want the honest version: on a small petrol the drivability improves more than the outright speed.
A fair few first cars have no turbo at all, and there is very little to gain from software on one. The margin a remap uses lives mostly in boost control.
We turn this work down regularly. It is the single most common thing we say no to, and it saves people a few hundred pounds they would not have got back.
Town centre and the university. Smaller engines, younger owners, tighter budgets.
Shepshed, Quorn, Barrow. More established, more family diesels.
Ashby and Coalville. Longer runs and a fair amount of commercial.
How most Loughborough customers reach us if they are in a hurry.
Leicester direction. We see a steady trickle from further down it.
Term time changes what arrives — more small petrols, fewer vans.
Yes. Most will cover a Stage 1 for little or nothing. Not declaring it can invalidate the policy, which is far worse than any premium increase.
There is a gain, but it is smaller than the percentages online suggest. The drivability improves more than the outright speed, and we would rather you knew that first.
Very little to gain, and we will usually tell you not to bother. The headroom a remap uses mostly lives in boost control, and there is none.
It can, if the car is still under one. A manufacturer may decline a claim it decides is tuning related. Worth checking your terms before you book.
About twenty-five minutes on the A60, or the M1 to J23 if the A60 is busy.
Yes, and most people do. You can see the dyno cell from reception.
Software-only jobs we do at your address — driveway, office car park or yard. Anything that needs measuring comes to the unit, because a rolling road does not travel.
Tell us the job and we will say which one it is before you book.
Send the registration and what you want from the car. We come back with the figures for your exact engine and a fixed price, usually the same day.
